All the resources are free to access and do not require a login, see the attached information sheet for further details.

Material designed to help teachers and students of A level Maths ... Our colleagues at the Advanced Maths Support Programme (AMSP) also have a wealth of  new material designed to help teachers and students  of A level Maths, Further Maths and Core Maths, and there’s a substantial new national resource of daily lessons in all subjects for all age groups, on the BBC Bitesize platform,  endorsed by several well-known names in their fields.

The Education Endowment Foundation- This rapid evidence assessment examines the existing research (from 60 systematic reviews and meta-analyses) for approaches that schools could use, or are already using, to support the learning of pupils while schools are closed due to Covid-19.

The Royal Geographical Society has teamed up with the Advanced Mathematics Support Programme (AMSP) to launch a new  Geography and Core Maths initiative. This will focus on building support for the circa 80% of young geographers who currently do not study maths beyond the age of 16, and raising awareness of how Core Maths can support geography students during their A levels and beyond.

Funded Professional Development Opportunities for Leaders of Maths Education available now  ...Teachers who want to achieve or enhance maths leadership accreditations can now apply for two separate professional development (PD) programmes run by the NCETM and Maths Hubs in 2020/21.

  1. Teachers interested in leading the professional development of others can join the NCETM PD Lead Development and Accreditation Programme.
  2. SLEs who want support with developing approaches to maths improvement work can apply to join the Maths SLE School Improvement Support Programme.   Each applicant needs to nominate a sponsoring Maths Hub.
Both programmes require the support of the participant’s headteacher/school, and, in the case of SLEs, of the Teaching School. SLEs can take part in either or both programmes.   For more information about the PD Lead Programme and to apply, see the attached information sheets which includes a link to the online application form.   The closing date for applications to both programmes is  9am on Monday 8 June 2020.
